How Much Do Custom LED Neon Signs Cost in 2026? What Affects a Quote
A useful neon budget starts with the design, dimensions and intended location. GetQuickSigns now handles custom neon enquiries; the former premade catalog and its size-based price list are no longer offered. This guide explains what affects a custom quote and what to include when requesting one.
How size changes a custom quote
Measure the available wall space and the viewing distance before choosing dimensions. The following are layout ideas, not a list of stocked sizes or fixed prices:
- Small shelf or desk feature: prioritize readable lettering and enough room around the design.
- Bedroom or office wall: compare a paper outline with the furniture below it.
- Bar, studio or event backdrop: size the design for the full viewing or camera frame.
- Large feature wall: discuss support, mounting, power and shipping requirements with the quote.
Size is only one input. Detailed line work, lettering, colors and the backing can change the design and price. Submit the actual artwork and preferred dimensions so the quote reflects the project.
How that compares to the rest of the market
Two useful reference points. First, traditional glass neon: a custom glass sign typically costs $300 to $2,000 and up, with large or detailed work passing $2,500, according to Metro Center Sign Works. Second, the market itself is moving toward LED: the global neon signs market is projected to grow from $2.53 billion in 2025 to $3.63 billion by 2032, per Coherent Market Insights, and energy-efficient LED product lines are doing most of that growing.
We also compared neon against every other sign type we print in our 2026 price index, if you are still deciding what kind of sign you need in the first place.
What is included, and what to watch for elsewhere
Compare written quotes on the same basis: design and dimensions, backing, mounting hardware, power supply, controls and shipping. Confirm what is included rather than assuming the former catalog specifications apply to a new custom order.
What custom costs
Custom work is quoted from your exact design. Send your wording or artwork, desired size, mounting location and deadline through the custom neon enquiry form. Confirm the specifications, complete price and delivery schedule before ordering; the retired catalog prices are not current custom quotes.
Running costs are a rounding error
One cost people overestimate: electricity. LED neon flex draws around 3 to 4 watts per foot of tube, per Neon Filter’s measurements. At the 2026 average US residential rate of about 18 cents per kilowatt hour, per EIA projections, a typical 30 watt sign running five hours a night costs under a dollar a month. Use the actual power rating, operating hours and your electricity rate to estimate running costs.
Build a useful quote request
Start with the wall measurements, the design you want and where the sign will be used. A quote based on those details is more useful than a price from a discontinued product listing.
Not sure which size fits your wall? Measure the space and share a photo with your preferred wording or artwork through our custom neon enquiry form. Ask about available options and a quote for that design.
