Artwork Guidelines
Artwork That Prints Perfectly.
Follow these guidelines and your sign will come out sharp, vibrant and exactly the way you pictured it. Not a designer? Don’t worry – our team reviews every file before production and will reach out if anything needs attention.
The Essentials
Six Specs That Make Your Sign Look Amazing.
File Formats
Print-ready PDF is preferred. Vector formats (AI, EPS, SVG) give the cleanest results at any size. High-resolution JPG, PNG or TIFF files work great for photo-based designs.
Resolution
Build raster artwork at 150 DPI at the final print size. Images pulled from websites (72 DPI) usually print blurry – when in doubt, send us the biggest file you have.
Color Mode
Set your document to CMYK for the most accurate color match. RGB files are accepted, but some bright screen colors can shift slightly when printed.
Fonts & Text
Convert all text to outlines (or embed fonts in your PDF) before sending. This guarantees your typography prints exactly as you designed it, on any of our equipment.
Bleed & Margins
For cut-to-size products, extend backgrounds 1/8” (0.125”) past the final edge and keep text and logos at least 1/4” inside the edge. No crop marks needed.
Sizing
Build your file at the exact final dimensions you ordered – or at a precise proportion of it (like half size at double resolution). Mismatched proportions can distort your design.
Cheat Sheet
The Do’s and Don’ts.
Do This
- ✓ Send vector files or print-ready PDFs whenever possible
- ✓ Double-check spelling, phone numbers and addresses before uploading
- ✓ Use bold, high-contrast colors – they get noticed from a distance
- ✓ Include your order number when emailing files
- ✓ Ask us early if you are unsure – artwork review is free
Avoid This
- ✕ Low-resolution images saved from websites or social media
- ✕ Screenshots of logos – request the original file instead
- ✕ Tiny text near the edges of your design
- ✕ Word, PowerPoint or Canva share links – export to PDF first
- ✕ Waiting until after production starts to mention a change
